Do you remember the Clog Palace?

The Clog Palace was the place to go in the 1980s and 1990s in the Washington, D.C. area for listening to and dancing to Appalachian old-time string band music. There was a lot of eating, drinking, and socializing, too, as I recall. It was held in a few places over the years, but is most known for its time at Captain White's Oyster Bar on Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring, Maryland.

I would like to compile memories of the Clog Palace and The Daily Clog from people who were there. Want to help? Check out the information on this website, and if you have any memories to share, feel free to contact me. I'd also love to borrow photographs that I can scan for the record.

I'm posting information that I have about the Clog Palace as it was when I was most involved in it, and I hope it will jog memories that you will share with everyone through this web site. Please contact me if you see any errors or omissions in the lists below.

Thanks!
Julie Mangin
